This position is responsible for the detection and apprehension of individuals who shoplift merchandise from Gordmans. Additionally, this position is responsible for promoting all aspects of the Loss Prevention Division theft awareness, safety and shrinkage control program in the assigned store.

Shortage Control1. Conduct weekly LP Audits and assist Store Management in completing and implementing action plans in response to failing audits.2. Inspect, document, and report company policy and procedure violations perpetrated by associates and guests in a formal written report or audit.3. Assist Store Management in giving new associate orientations, shoplifting prevention training classes, and performing store procedural and safety audits.4. Responsible for regular store walks training associates on Loss Prevention processes, procedures, and policies. Regularly attend and present at store associate meetings.5. Responsible for attending annual SKU Inventory and serving as Executive Auditor. Shoplifter Detection and Detention6. Responsible for the detection and apprehension of any individual(s) who have committed shoplifting, vandalism, fraud, or altered EAS tags. These apprehensions must be made in accordance with established policies and procedures.7. Required to appear as a witness on the company’s behalf in legal or administrative proceedings. Must be professionally competent and capable of presenting testimony in a court of law.8. Must collect, process, and maintain evidence in conjunction with the apprehension of detained individuals.9. Responsible for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the store CCTV system.Internal Dishonesty Resolution10. Conduct surveillance of associates and conduct preliminary investigations of suspected internal theft or fraud as directed by the Loss Prevention District Manager.11. Maintain confidentiality with regards to all internal and external investigations.12. May serve as a witness during dishonest associate interviews.Safety13. Assist Store Management in identifying safety concerns including associate education and awareness. 14. Assist Store Management and DLPM in completion of risk assessments, including action plans to minimize guest and/or associate accidents.15. Assist in completion of Monthly Safety Inspections16. Follow company policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.Overall 17. Must report to work on a regular and predictable basis or as scheduled. Scheduling must meet the needs of the assigned Store and follow guidelines set by Loss Prevention District Manager. 18. Assist in EAS troubleshooting, repairs and/or replacement.19. Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Loss Prevention District Manager. Job Scope and Dimensions 20. Responsible for supporting the management team of the assigned store in all Loss Prevention activities including; auditing store processes, policies, and procedures, investigation and resolution of external losses, investigation and communication of potential internal losses, etc.21. Responsible for protecting the company assets (Associates and Guests, Merchandise, Money, and Physical Facilities.) 22. Responsible for advancing all Loss Prevention directives and initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Ability to sufficiently understand the English language in order to communicate, verbal and written, with individuals at all levels in the Company and with various business contacts outside of the Company in an articulate, professional manner. 2. Visual ability, corrected, to observe and detect signs of shoplifting or dangerous behavior at a distance, or through use of CCTV system, and to verify guest identification at a close range. Must be able to distinguish between subtle shades of coloring on merchandise. 3. The schedule will be created within DayForce to meet the needs of the business as determined in partnership with store management, the lead agent and/or DLPM. 4. Ability to make logical decisions based on established procedures and policies. 5. Ability to analyze suspicious behavior and react quickly to dishonest activity. 6. Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background screen and drug test.

Education and Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Minimum of one-year experience in a retail setting preferred with loss prevention experience preferred.
